You have to admit it is a bit beyond the Chimpo Bush images, although I can’t remember anyone pointing out his propensity to present a wide stanced necronomic stimulus in photo ops.

Let’s get back to being to call a spade a spade without this language nazi liberal media horse exhaust forcing any form of discourse from being vetted by a bunch of people who should have long ago been drawn and quartered and strung up along the interstate highway system as part of a intellectual beautification project.

This country has drifted further and further toward the toilet for most of my lifetime by pretending to provide freedoms while persecuting those who exercise them without first paying the tithes.

Anyone who questions the right of anyone to say anything is beneath my contempt. People who want to control what other people think are legitimate targets. That’s what 9/11 was all about. Changed nothing.

Next demonstration is going to be FANTASTIC!

What bullshit. This isn’t racist. If they can compare Bush to a chimp, they can do the same to BO. It’s like we all have to tiptoe our way around this guy. To hell with Jesse Jackass, Al Sharptooth, and Spike Leech.

Just a few scattered thoughts on the subject…

Howard Stern has tackled this very issue before. When Sal calls Baba Booey a monkey, it’s he’s making fun of the way he looks. but when Sal calls Robin a monkey, it’s racist. So says the King of All Media. So shall it be.

But in all seriousness… You don’t have to agree that it’s OK to call a white guy a monkey but it’s not OK to call a black guy a monkey. Can people sometimes get a little oversensitive when it comes to race? Of course. The Post has to right to run whatever they think is worth running, and people have every right to react negatively. But does anyone really think that an image that can be interpreted as racist and features the violent death of a very popular president is not going to incite a visceral reaction?

Running a comic where Obama runs around talking like a combination of Dolemite and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, I’m very conscious of trying not to cross a line where it offends in the wrong kind of way. It’s all about context. It’s all about context.

honestly, not at all. My immediate reaction was that it simply equated the morons who wrote the 11,000 page stimulus bill with monkeys.
A lot of it seems to be a generational thing. While I am not a big fan of pop culture it reminds me of a south park episode where there was a huge debate over a flag that showed a black guy hung by white guys.
The kids didn’t see the big deal because they didn’t see black and white, just a dead guy.

Regardless, the debate should not be over a stupid comic but the stimulus itself. This image was on every news station, but nowhere did I hear the fact that there simply is no money for the “stimulus” as we are 11 trillion dollars in debt. THAT needs to be the debate, not this nonsense.

I cant say that I do, In fact I found the cartoon rather funny. The same ones who are saying it is are the only ones thinking of derogatory remarks concerning a monkey. I thought of it more like the idea of a monkey behind a typewriter you often see..now had the monkey been on a swing….then maybe…but this is just people with nothing better to do raising cane about nothing.

Racist; I don’t really know, I guess it depends on how you look at it, I think the cartoon shows a couple pigs who just gunned down the president but they only see him as a monkey. Now I think that is a commentary on how the pigs look at black folks. But does it make the cartoon racist?… Maybe if you’re a pig.

    It looks racist to me.

My immediate reaction was of offense. I thought it was very racist because of the racist stereotypes we have all been taught as a child.

Now a pack of moneys in suits and of different colours with a sign in front of them saying US Congress…that’s a different story.

but this comic is obviously racist.

Skwguitar, come on buddy, weigh in on this trash. You and I both know this thing stinks of racism. No other way around it. To the people who say Obama didn’t write the stimulus, congress did- where is congress depicted in the cartoon? They are not. This caricature could mean alot of things, but I think we all know what it really means without having to say it. That way, no one has to think or talk about the race card.

I will say this, it is definitely a loaded image and I think the author knew exactly what he was doing when he drew it.
