Top 20 all-time fricking unforgettable Bush moments. #4.
For the conspiracy theorists out there.
Look, I’m not going to pretend that I know exactly what happened on 9/11. I’m also not going to pretend that Bush’s 9/11 commission report was honest and accurate either. For those of you who do want to investigate it, there are plenty of theories out there, have fun sifting through all the bullshit.
Some people take this (among other things) as proof that Bush planned 9/11. I’m not going to go that far, although I wouldn’t deny it. At the very least Bush could have paid more attention to the files he received shortly before 9/11 that were labeled “Terrorists plan to hijack planes and fly them into buildings” with a fricking picture of the WTC Towers on the cover.
But no, I see Bush doing something different here. He’s just trying to be entertaining. Why let details get in the way of a good story? I mean honestly, who wants to read a non-fiction novel when you can read a fiction one instead? Harry Potter or Gore Vidal’s Civil War - You be the judge.
One of the things I will always remember Bush for is his ability to manipulate, twist, and flat out ignore facts. It’s a shame to all of those who lost loved ones and friends in the horrific events that happened that day that our own president doesn’t have the decency to be honest about it.
