My dirty little secret.

Published by skwguitar at 6:31 am under Social Issues Edit This

Alright you guys, I have a confession to make. Forgive me, but it’s slightly embarassing for me to actually own up to. Growing up I never in a million years thought that I would say this…

Jeez this is harder than I thought…

Okay here goes… Letting it all out… … … Full disclosure here…

Sometimes… I… … … kind of like to watch fox news.

I know, I know. Rhino, I know…

Now don’t get me wrong - I do not consider fox news fair and balanced journalism. Quite the opposite actually. I guess it kind of feels like logging onto theonion.com and looking at their fake news stories. Or like a really, really, really stupid SNL skit. I don’t know what it is, but something about their completely bias, off-base and simplistic views just… entertains me.

Plus every once in a while you get a moment where someone just drops a hint of truth on these assholes, and they always look so dumbfounded when it happens.

Cable, $30 dollars a month. 32 Inch TV, $245 dollars. Watching Fox News reporters scramble to cover up elements of truth in an interview? Priceless.

Oh no, friend, I do not take issue with you watching FAUX News. It’s all the fun of driving by an accident on the freeway without having to slow down traffic. I cruise RedState and FreeRepublic every now and then, and watch the Murdoch Meatwagon once in a while myself. I tuned in on Election Night just to see the looks on their pasty, white faces.

I watch Faux News– well I drop in periodically. But how can we not? I mean, how can I do what I do if I do not know all of what is being said? That seems like writing a paper without doing any research and that is just wrong…. Well, in my world it is wrong. ~k

I have to let you know that I also sneek a peek at Fox News just to see their spin on the news or to watch them whine. In fact, in 2006, I tuned in to see Brit Hume et al have to announce that the Senate and House had Democratic majorities. I smile to this day recalling the looks on their faces and their demeanor when they made the announcement; some of the announcers could not believe the American public had not voted Republican.

No biggie. I watched Fox News all the time when I had cable. I take all news channels with a grain of salt though.
If you want to be a good commentator, you need to sample all POV’s, I think. All news channels are biased to some extent. I know a lot of people pick on Fox, but I don’t think they’re the worst. They’re bad, but no the worst.
