Top 20 all-time fricking unforgettable Bush moments. #19.

Published by skwguitar at 6:21 pm under News Today Edit This

So just to clarify, these moments aren’t ranked. Otherwise I would have saved this one for later. No, this is merely my attempt to solidify the George W. Bush legacy. And number 19 is quite a doozy… (yes I just said doozy).

Ahh yes. May 1, 2003. The day when President Bush informed us that our mission in Iraq was accomplished! Major combat operations in Iraq had ended! The allied forces had prevailed! Just listen to that applause. Of course seeing as six years later we still have what would seem to be major combat operations going on in Iraq, this statement has created a little bit of confusion. Luckily for us White House spokesperson Dana Perino cleared this up in a 2007 press conference.

Listen to Perino at the 1:40 mark. See, it was that ship he was on, the U.S.S. Lincoln, who had been deployed for…. whatever…. their mission was accomplished! What a simple misunderstanding, right? Psh… Goshdarn that liberal media too… thinking that “mission accomplished” and “major combat operations in Iraq have ended” and “the allied forces have prevailed” means that the war is over? Those newspapers will put a spin on anything right? (sarcasm font)

Oh the George W. Bush legacy. You couldn’t make this shit up.
