A few good headlines
Sorry I haven’t been as active here the last couple of days, but it was the holidays and all. I hope they went well for you guys too!
Let’s take a look around the headlines, because there’s definitely some good ones today. Starting with the R.N.C.
. . .
Chip Saltsman, a candidate for the R.N.C. chairmenship sent out this incredibly offensive song on a cd to other R.N.C. members for the holidays.
The song, which conservative talk-show icon Rush Limbaugh began airing on his show in 2007, was meant purely as a joke, Saltsman said.
“I think most people recognize political satire when they see it,” Chip Saltsman told CNN. “I think RNC members understand that.”
Yeah, well I think most of America can recognize racism too, Chip, and a song called ‘Barack the magic negro’ sounds pretty racist to me.
By the way how’s that rebirth of the G.O.P. going? Still pushing ignorance and hate filled rhetoric on the order of people like Rush Limbaugh? Check. Yeah you guys are doing a great job reforming the Republican Party. Keep up the good work, douchebags.
. . .
Anyways, onto some bigger and better things, (this story is great) Viagra is being used as a negotiation tool for getting information out of Afghan warlords.
“Whatever it takes to make friends and influence people - whether it’s building a school or handing out Viagra,” an agency operative, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the Washington Post.
Think about this for a second. Can you blame them really? In a society where getting a look at a woman’s full face is considered taboo, Viagra probably works wonders.
“You’re trying to bridge a gap between people living in the 18th century and people coming in from the 21st century so you look for those common things in the form of material aid that motivate people everywhere.”
Bringing people together, bringing terrorists to justice. Ahh the magic of those little blue pills.
. . .
A poll released today showed that 75% of Americans are glad Bush will be out of office.
“It’s been like a failed marriage,” said CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider.
Yeah, something like that I guess… As the Bush era finally winds down many people are speculating on how history will view our nation’s soon to be unemployed president. In honor of this starting January 1st I’m going to be pulling out my top-20 absolute favorite Bush moments. This could get painful…
