President Bush on faith
This should drive the religious right crazy. Drove me crazy too, but for different reasons I’m sure. As lame duck president George Bush continues his farewell tour, we’ve begun to see him open up on a lot of topics that he wouldn’t talk about in detail before. Here he is discussing his faith in depth with ABC’s “Nightline”.
Thoughts? I have a couple. The first and best was his quote when talking about quitting his alcohol addiction - “I was a one-step kind of guy.” Yeah Bush, we know you’re a one-step kind of guy, anything more than that would require critical thinking.
I also noticed his attempt to link 9/11 and Iraq together, like if he says it enough times it will be true, regardless of the facts. Who’s he trying to convince at this point, himself or us? Everyone in America has caught onto him and he knows it.
Moving past that though did you see how many contradictions Bush had in what he was saying about his faith? Now I know that this is a personal thing and all, but with all of that time he supposedly spends a day praying you’d think he would’ve had a better handle on this. Answering one thing, then stepping backwards right after. It was almost like he was making it up as he went along. Then again, it’s pretty much what I’ve come to expect from our 43rd president.

I think you make a great point that just because someone says there religious doesn’t mean anything. Everybody can say there religious just look at the Muslims and all the things they do in the name of religion. Its all based on actions and the way that God views us. Great article. I dont think hardly anyone really understands who God is anymore because no ones willing to put the time into anymore. Were too distracted with ourselves and all the bullshit we’ve surrounded ourselves with…..Keep it Great….
That last guy is a moron. If your just some run of the mill guy you shouldnt try to be President, especially of the United States. That last guy must be some fat republican because he sounds to me like a moron….Keep it Christian Ruthless…..
Ok, it’s time for the right wing Christian to check his choice for president 4 years ago…first. I pray to the God of Peace and love…no that was the pipe that you smoked in college. I believe that Muslims and Christians pray to the same God…you just lost the last 10% of people who still supporting you at this point. Calls himself a Christian but has no grasp or chooses not to mention or even HINT at any Christian Theology. If this is what we are to expect from a “christian” politician then I definitely will not be making that mistake again.
This is so shocking…I’m just speechless. Christianity is not meant to be a subtle thing that you can make friends with. you are going to offend people. If your that worried about what people think about you at the end of your Presidency you had no reason to be there in the first place.
Now please do us a favor and just shut up and step down before you stick your foot any more further down your throat.
Bush seems like the kinda guy who has always relied on his ability to make things up as he goes along. The funny thing is, you can tell he thinks he is good at it. But for those of us with the ability to tell when a three-year old is lying about having clean underwear when you can smell the load from across the room, we can tell that Bush has been BSing his way through his presidency all along.
