Remember Huckabee?

Published by skwguitar under News Today Edit This

Former Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee had some harsh words to say about the news coverage of the Republican National Convention. Specifically the media questions and coverage of Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Huckabee said his opinion the media coverage has been “tackier than a costume change at a Madonna concert.”

Huckabee, along with others, feels that the scrutiny placed on Palin, who spoke tonight at the R.N.C., has helped to unify the party.

I know I’m not convinced.

Palin presented herself tonight as a “Washington Outsider.” Of course there were a few attacks on Barack Obama as well.

PALIN: “There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate.”

McCain may have a more decorated record in the Senate than Obama, but to say that all that Obama has done is author two memoirs is more than a tiny stretch.

PALIN: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”

This also was a stretch. Taxes will be increased under Obama’s plan, but not for the majority of Americans.  In fact there is an estimated $80 Billion in tax breaks, mostly for low-income workers and the elderly.

I understand though… it wouldn’t really be a R.N.C. without claims that the Dems are going to raise taxes.
